Today we explore the historical evolution of human attention as media transitioned from long-form broadcasts to AI-driven micro-content. While digital metrics like shorter ad lengths and reduced article word counts suggest a decline in focus, we argue that our cognitive capacity remains intact but is increasingly diverted by rapid task-switching.

This shift is largely driven by technological designs such as infinite scrolling and personalized algorithms that prioritize frequent engagement over sustained concentration. However, a growing digital-wellness movement and a continued demand for "slow media" provide a necessary balance to these trends.

Ultimately, we suggest that while our environment encourages snackable content, individuals still possess the ability to engage in deep focus when motivated by interest or purpose.
