In this video I show you how to incorporate gyros into your Arduino projects. The GY-87 module contains the MPU6050 IMU chip. The MPU6050 contains 3 accelerometers for measuring acceleration along the x axis, the y axis, and the z-axis, and three gyros for measuring rotational velocity around those axis. In today's lesson, I will show you how to activate the three gyros on the MPU6050. Gyros measure the rotational velocity in radians per second. The three gyros measure rotational velocity about the X axis, the Y axis, and the Z axis. I will then show you how to measure roll, pitch, and yaw using only the gyros. We observe drift in the Gyro results, so in todays lesson we show you how you can reduce the Gyro drift. I will take you through things step-by-step, and show you how to connect the module and program it.
