How to custom program Electrochromic Displays with the Arduino UNO
In the previous video we looked at ynvisibles electrochromic display panels and tried out their demo interfaces and code, in this video I want to show you how easy it is to directly program them yourself with simple code.
I have taken the LED code from my earlier video and modified it for these displays, I also show how to optimize it by leveraging direct port manipulation (This does however make it ATMEGA 328 specific but with little effort can be used with other microcontrollers.)

I wanted to save power over LED displays and came across ynvisible' s line of electrochromic displays, these are not your off the shelf displays as there currently made to order but I have suggested to them that maybe they should create some standard displays and sell them as a line, this way people can get to use them without needing thousands to get a good price.
They use perhaps 1 microwatt per cm2 compared to 400mW for LED,
They kindly sent me a kit to play with so here is the initial look, testing with their provided modules, driver boards and code, in the next video I will demonstrate how easy they are to interface using a standard Arduino Uno.
