Space Eagle is student‑run rocketry team from Italy, who were at last year's @MakerfaireromeEu showing off their Pandora pump-fed bipropellant rocket. Pandora enables controlled hop testing for propulsion tuning, pressurization stability, guidance algorithms, and landing loads across ignition, ascent, hover, and touchdown phases.
As Marco explains, Pandora features a nuclear reactor operated by an Arduino UNO R4 WiFi and uses water to run a turbine that powers the turbo pumps.
Pandora is designed to fly at a maximum height of 10 meters for about 30 seconds. It will soon be controlled via an Arduino UNO Q, which will allow the rocket to land autonomously thanks to its onboard AI capabilities.
