LIVE ON KICKSTARTER: kickstarter.com/projects/zircon/arcology-the-next-zircon-album
A vast, self-contained, self-sustaining megacity of the far future. The last bastion of human civilization, the Arcology provides everything for its people. Yet despite this utopian life, there is a sense of longing: something lost - something missing from humanity's spirit. What lies beyond its shining chrome barriers? What is left of the natural world?
This is the premise for my upcoming full-length electronic album, the spiritual successor to Identity Sequence, which was funded on Kickstarter back in 2012.
Arcology is a continuation of the sound I've been developing since my first album in 2004. I call it "organic electronic" music, because it combines dance rhythms and synth-heavy production with beautiful, ethereal vocals, acoustic instruments, and more complex compositions that can be enjoyed on OR off the dance floor.
Like in Identity Sequence, you'll hear a range of styles incorporated from breakbeat and future bass to trance and drum & bass. My production style has continued to evolve, incorporating new elements of modern 'bass music', rap vocals, and custom virtual instruments.
