Tech Tangents | Archiving Manuals and Software for 70s & 80s S-100 Computers, the First Steps @TechTangents | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 13 hours ago.
I'm getting started on what I feel could be the most important project for the S-100 computers I got, preserving the mountain of media related to them. This video is just the introduction to what I will be doing because I have a lot of work ahead of me on finishing all of it. But I'm excited to be able to begin working on it now!
List of all Documents: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/169I3v8Z0MSMUkzjK8socbPL-gb5KFct5aQrW1HMJprE/preview
I would like to make a list of software, but there's hundreds of disks and not all of them will work most likely so I don't think it's a worthwhile time investment. Especially since the state of software preservation from this era seems surprisingly sparse from my research. So I'm just going in with the notion that everything is important and likely not archived.
Things I've Preserved Mentioned in the Video:
BASIC-E Reference Manual: archive.org/details/1977-01-27-basic-e-reference-manual
BASIC-E User's Guide: archive.org/details/basic-e-users-guide-compiler-v-2.1-run-time-interpreter-v-2.2
BASIC-E Announcement: archive.org/details/imsai-basic-e-announcement
CP/M Book: archive.org/details/cp-m-primer-by-stephen-m.-murtha-and-mitchell-waite
CP/M-86 1.1na Disk Image: archive.org/details/cpm86-1.1na
