Here Robert M Ellis begins an introduction to a practical view of archetypes as meaning, together with suggested practices to use archetypes for inspiration without adopting absolute beliefs such as those of religious dogma. His approach here ties in with his recently published book 'Archetypes in Religion and Beyond' (Equinox) and focuses on what it means for archetypes to consist of embodied meaning. He draws on the work of George Lakoff and Mark Johnson on embodied meaning, applying this to archetypes.
This talk is the first of a series by Robert M Ellis for the Middle Way Network, which is a community of the Middle Way Society meeting on Zoom.
