Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR) has announced that its partner, Soracle, a joint venture between Japan Airlines and Sumitomo, will lead the rollout of air taxi services in Osaka. Soracle plans to use Archer’s Midnight aircraft as its main fleet, working with local governments to create the regulatory and operational framework for quiet, sustainable flights across the Kansai region.
Japan, already a leader in advanced transportation like high-speed rail and modern aviation, is set to embrace the next wave of innovation. With eVTOL aircraft nearing commercialization, the country is positioned to be an early adopter of air taxi technology.
