Archaic Mass are (!? whoa they're still active?) an American hyper fast death metal band. They released 3 EPs ever since they formed in 1988, all of them during the 90's, "Canticles of Dissolution" being their 2nd release.
These guys woke up one day and were like "You know what would be cool? Thrash but like SUPER fast, eh?" and recorded 3 EPs that sound like the embodiment of aggression. Think a notch above early Pestilence or other underground bands like the Frenchies from Mutilated with their "Psychodeath Lunatics" or the American band Parricide with the "A Future of Suffering" demo. Just high octane shit and nothing else. Bulldozing riffs!!
Yes this is already up on youtube, but shit I really like this and wanted to have it on my channel!

![Terteros - Beyond the Tales [Full Demo - 1992]
Terteros were a German death metal band. Formed in 1991, they released only 2 demos, Beyond... being their debut.
Its a very beefy demo, with a solid blend of low tuned and high tuned guitars, giving it a more unique sound. The bass is also present here more often than the average osdm demo, and the kick drums are super chunky. The band stays mostly at a mid-tempo, but still uses faster riffs to bring out their aggression from time to time. Terteros have some super interesting quirks in their music, nothing too over the top nor noticeable, but if you pay attention to the music and are used to the genre, you will definitely notice them.

![Shrieking Demons - Diabolical Regurgitations [Full EP - 2021]
Diabolical Regurgitations is Shrieking Demons debut EP, 16 minutes of gross, putrid and abhorrent death metal.
Honestly, this being a Caligari Recs release automatically lets you know that this is a good release. 16 minutes of Autopsy, Abscess and Dream Death worship, an incredibly solid and top tier list of influences - and they used all of that potential in this EP. The songs flow perfectly into eachother and variety is a thing that doesnt lack. Its enticing and makes you want more from the band.
With members of Cancer Spreading, Gravesite, Assumption, Bottomless, Becerus, and many others! A very promissing release, dont sleep on this band....

![Holy Death - Moral Terror Vol. 1 [Full EP - 2022]
Moral Terror Vol. 1 is the first EP in a 3 part series to be released by the sludgy death/doom warmongers Holy Terror in 2022.
This EP marks a slight shift in the sound of the band, having Holy Death incorporated influences froum Louisianas incredibly recognizable style of sludge metal. Both tracks are fierce and spiteful, straight into the riffs. Unlike the previous material, the tracks are only 2 minutes long, which means the band condesed their full potential in both death and doom into powerful bursts of hate. Mortal Terror Vol. 1 also shows a significant punk influences (probably came along with the sludge) that greatly improves the music.
Moral Terror Vol. 2 to be released in June 3...

![Xerasia - Rehearsals 90 [Full Demo - 1990]
Xerasia were a Nordic death metal band. Formed in the 80s as Dark Device, the band went through various name changes, being known as Xerasia only during the year of 1990, quickly moving on to Embryonic and lastly as Thou Shalt Suffer from 1991 onwards. This rehearsal tape was the only thing they ever released as Xerasia.
Probably the most interesting fact about this band is that it features Tomas Haugen and Vegard Tveitan, better known as Samoth and Ihsahn, who you probably know as founders of the legendary black metal band Emperor. In Xerasias last iteration, Thou Shalt Suffer, you can already hear some of the ideas those two would develop later in Emperor
The original tape only had the first 3 tracks, but since I got my hands on some 2 extra tracks I decided to include them here. If you want a nice insight on how the death genre was evolving from the late 80s into the early 90s, this demo gives you a pretty nice example. Still super thrashy but already included many of the characteristics we know today of death metal.

![Terror Scum - Live [Full Demo - 1991]
Terror Scum from France played good old death metal with some grindy undertones. This live recording is essentially death metal track -» grindcore track -» death metal track -» grindcore track, and so on and so forth, except for that interlude.
Its quite raw and the instruments just get muddled together, but hey thats the kind of thing we like around here!

![Impending Dred - Impending Dred [Full Demo - 1990]
Impending Dred were an American death/thrash metal band and this self-titled demo was the only thing they ever released.
If you want pure early 90s American violence I got just the thing for you. Impending Dred play non-stop death metal in the vein of Possessed, Incubus or even a bit of Morbid Angel. Most likely a shame that they never released any more music.

![Inextremis - Suffer in Silence [Full Demo - 1993]
Inextremis, later known as In:Extremis, are an Australian death metal band and this is their debut demo. A heavy slab of good old death metal, Rottrevore, Gorefest or Unbounded Terror style, you know? That early 90s death but already disconnected from the thrash roots. Overall beefy and big sounding death metal, plenty of blast beats and low growls!

![Mesentery - Demo 94 [Full Demo - 1994]
Mesentery were, as far as I know, a Swedish death metal band. This release isnt present on Metal Archives, but, analysing the logo here and the one present on the Anal Intruder demo artwork from another Swedish Mesentery, I think its the same band.
@larstangmark had uploaded this demo YEARS ago, but I liked it so much I wanted to highlight it once more. Super catchy swedish death metal, for fans of Crematory (swedish one ofc), Desultory and death metal that doesnt rely on exclusively low tuned guitars and low growly guitars. These guys go heavy on the high tremollos and vocals that sound like not enough air is going through that throat.

![Skellum - Groping in the Dark [Full Demo - 1990]
Skellum were an American thrash metal band. They only released 2 demos, Groping in the Dark being their first.
Been a while since I uploaded a thrash metal demo. Skellum mix the classic early 80s Metallica/Megadeth sound with more mid-tempo influences that defined the style for 90s thrash, such as Overkill and Slayers Seasons in the Abyss. This demo is already 2 layers of influence ahead of the great hits of the early/mid 80s and a perfect example of what thrash would become during the next decade. (also there is a lot of tape feedback which could be annoying for some, I would fix it if I knew how)

![Infernal Curse - And Then the Heavens Opened [Full Demo - 1994]
Infernal Curse were a German death metal band. They were active from 1991 to 1999, having released 2 demos in that timespan - this one and their debut in 1993.
This was probably my personal favourite find for this week at least. If you are a fan of bands such as House of Atreus, early Ares Kingdom, Sacriphyx or Arghoslent, this will be right up your alley. The band has a huge sense of melody and pace, only breaking it with an extremely out of place riff on the 2nd track, but thats so minor that you wont even notice it.
I think the bands i mentioned are self-explanatory, you know what you are getting into if you like any of those.

![Eternal Frost - ...Vita Est Quasi Mortis Imago [Full Demo - 1993]
Theres little to no information about Eternal Frost out there other than theyre Polish, they released
two demos and were active between 92 and 94.
...Vita Est... is really cool! The echo-y production (or lack thereof) really helps selling those riffs,
sometimes reminds me of what modern band Ossuary from Wisconsin was doing in their demos.
Mega dirty and mega slow!.... Except whey they shred! The closing riffs to the final track are insane!
