Arcade1Up's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Supreme is one of the closest-to-arcade-accurate cabinets they've ever shipped, and it might be the angriest reaction I've seen to one of their releases. This one is a Spreetail exclusive, which is its own conversation, but most of the complaints land on three things: the move list bezel instead of the original solid black, the control panel art where the logo was swapped for the bezel sticker over the marquee skulls, and a game list that is identical to the MK2 Deluxe.
So let's go through it honestly. The "3" in the logo is bigger and shifted. The main title logo ended up under the coin door instead of where you'd expect. The bezel people are furious about is modeled after an aftermarket move list bezel that collectors have been buying and installing themselves for years. And the game list is the same lineup Arcade1Up has been recycling on that PCB forever, which is annoying, but it is not new information.
My take: the cabinet is not the problem. The trust is the problem. Arcade1Up spent years shipping compromises, and now even a mostly-accurate cabinet gets treated like an insult. Add a single-retailer exclusive with no price competition and a support experience nobody feels great about, and you get a reaction that is way out of proportion to the artwork.
