In this video I compare what it's like to learn Arabic vs Japanese as a beginner. We talk about three main topics:
1) Resources
2) Accents and Dialects
3) Pronunciation
I argue that there are are greater and better quality resources available for Japanese. These resources are likely to be more relevant to what you are learning than the Arabic ones because of the many regional dialects in Arabic. Japanese has some regional dialects but compared with the Arabic dialects they are not so different from one another. I also argue that for a beginner whose native language is English, Arabic pronunciation is more difficult than Japanese pronunciation.
