Learn about the winning project of the AR New into Old awards 2025 designed by ARCity Office in China.

The project, Bricolage houses, features six buildings in Shenzhen’s hyperdense urban village of Nantou which have been rehabilitated by the architects, with new art and community uses inserted.

In this presentation, ARCity Office's co-founders Han Jing and Zhang Yuxing tell us more about the story of these buildings and their intervention on the site. They are joined by AR New into Old awards judges:

- Rossana Hu, founding partner at Neri & Hu and chair of the architecture department at the University of Pennsylvania

- May al‑Ibrashy, architectural engineer and co‑founder of Megawra – Built Environment Collective

- William Mann, founding director at Witherford Watson Mann Architects

The AR New into Old awards run every other year and will open again for entries towards the end of 2026.
