There's a few words to describe how good this character plays: boom mic, camera, and legs. Stat wise, April is technically the weakest character of the game with the Power of 1, Range 2 & Speed 3. Yet her moveset and agility surpasses that supposedly low power. April's anti-air are some aerial Chun-Li kicks and you can really abuse this with the air dive. Not sure if it's because she's drawn taller, her speed or what, but her kicks and flying knee do a lot of damage. I'm sure she has the best anti-air in the game. The best way to use April is either run up to somebody or attack with a roll which she uses her boom mic and that thing has great range to lead into anything.
Her specials are absurdly good, too. Her normal special attack consists of April swinging a news camera in a circular motion. Similar to Raphael, you can control April's spin into any direction although slowly. However, if you run then perform your standing special, April will spin a lot faster and sweep through enemies. Her rolling special is outrageously powerful, especially when her Power Stat is 1. She uses a boom mic like a lance or spear and this a very big amount of damage on every enemy type, especially bosses. On regular enemies, this attack becomes a barrage of multiple hits but it's still useful. April is just too good more so when you compare her to the other speedy character, Michelangelo. Her standing special is already more useful than Mike's special and the same goes for the rolling version. April maneuverability is amazing and you can tell how comfortable I feel with her by the gameplay footage. The only real challenges for her are bulky, bruiser enemies like the Stone Warriors aka Rock Soldiers and the Triceratons but she can pull through with ease with those legs!
