Great Teacher Appoota | Appoota vs Lawrence Anton on Anti-Natalism @appoota | Uploaded December 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
I was sent a post by the Antinatalist handbook page on Instagram. So I reached out to the admin of the page, Lawrence Anton, for a debate/discussion.
The proposition: It is unethical to create children.
We get into a discussion about the underlying normative ethical views that lead to AN, meanings of terms like "uncompensated harm", etc.
The debate ended with the agreement that Lawrence was unable to convey the concept of uncompensated harm to me, and thus no reason for me to accept or reject the view(there is no reason to even think that the concept is coherent).
