Apple opened a Houston plant and said Mac mini production starts there this year. Twelve days later they announced the new M6 mini that ships September 22, and that one isn't coming off the Texas line.
What actually moves to Texas is final assembly. The chip, the memory, and the boards still run through the same global supply chain they always have. Apple's own wording even leaves the door open, so if where your Mac is built matters to you, check the label on the box, not the press release.
Does "assembled in USA" change anything for you, or is it just a sticker?
