The Apple Watch Series 1 was the 2nd iteration in the Apple Watch Series, improving upon the originals design and making the Apple Watch cheaper and run faster. This Watch however was solely created to ensure that both hardware and software of the soon to be released Apple Watch Series 1 worked flawlessly.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT?
-The Apple Watch is engraved (QR Code and Internal Tracking Number)

-It runs SwitchBoard, with Verbose enabled on boot

-S/N is invalid on Apple.com

-The Digital Crown of the Apple Watch has been drilled out by a machine, with only a sliver of it left. This was likely used by a machine, to twist the digital crown while testing.

-Has original Prototype tape on it

Would I recommend you go out and purchase one? It really depends on how much money you have. After all, if you just want a device running SwitchBoard; you can just restore an iPhone 3GS to a SwitchBoard IPSW.
