Last year, Apple decided to grace the world with Liquid Glass, unveiling the newest way for them to artificially slow down devices and convince people to upgrade sooner. Not to mention it creates visibility problems on the default settings and the supposed "controls" to control transparency is virtually unchanged than the "reduced transparency" accessibility option. Top this off with a YouTube video with the thumbnail in an unfortunate position and many of the designers leaving Apple and they realized after burning at least 5 years in development on Liquid Glass, the sunk-cost fallacy dictates they can't just go back to what they had before because of course that means Apple admits they were wrong and Apple has become very good and hiding their apologies and never admitting wrongdoing. Just this last week, I witnessed visible lag on an older iPhone with Liquid Glass on a co-worker's phone and she groaned and said "They really drive a racket trying to slow my phone down."
