Apple could have softened these price increases by bumping base storage up a tier. Instead the Mac Mini came back at $800 with a 256GB SSD, which is crazy. A $900 512GB version would have felt like a fair compromise. And with upgrade prices already high, it's a bummer the base levels stayed put.
