Apollo 8 Mission (BBC Audio) This video contains BBC-TV broadcasts of the Apollo 8 flight in December 1968. Starting with the launch which seems to be from a news programme, followed by Trans-Lunar TV from Apollo 8. These sequences are not complete. I have only synched the TV transmissions to what audio was available. The near complete 1st lunar TV broadcast is included. This has been seen for many years and gives us some idea of what the other broadcasts might have been like. That is followed by a partial rendition of the final TV broadcast by the crew from lunar orbit, which includes the Genesis reading. After that there are two short sequences of the Trans Earth TV followed by a brief audio snippet of the crew on the aircraft carrier after splashdown.

The audio you hear is all I have managed to accumulate in 40 years collecting of the BBC-TV broadcasts. It is hoped that someone has more and will allow it to be listened to. It would be great to find the launch in full.

All video is courtesy NASA
All audio is from the Furniss family with thanks
The BBC own the copyright on the audio per se and it is reproduced here so the public can at least hear and see part of what happened. But this is purely a reconstruction of events where there is no visual record.
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel - regards LM5
