Charlie Bowser (Charlie Is Ma Darlin) | Apollo 11 (rare audio recording of BBC-1 Moon Landing broadcast, 21 July 1969) @charliebowser8553 | Uploaded July 2023 | Updated October 2024, 9 hours ago.
Out of curiosity, I bid on and won 2 reels of tape a while ago which were labelled "moon landing."
While not an entirely continuous recording, and despite having been made through an open microphone, it is clearer than the copy that I've heard on Youtube.
This is the complete recording, warts and all, with gratitude to the original, unknown taper for their foresight. I particularly like how increasingly testy the great James Burke gets with NASA.
[For the nerds: both tapes are half-track 3 3/4ips. Reel 1 is standard play tape, ~32 minutes per side; reel 2 is double play, side 2 of which is only half-full.]
