A doctor who hates heights has relived his worst nightmare - 150 feet up a tower at a Staffordshire theme park where he was involved in a 999 rescue drama. Tamworth GP Dr Phil Killeen conquered his fear when he was called to treat an injured construction worker on the Apocalypse ride at Drayton Manor, near Tamworth. Now the doctor has been back up the tower filming a reconstruction of the rescue for the BBC1 series 999. And it was revealed yesterday that while the doctor was treating his patient, 21-year-old Peter Dolloway, they joked that the incident might be featured in the BBC programme. The 47-year-old GP was called to the park at 1.45am on April 20 last year after electrician Mr Dolloway fell 30ft while preparing the ride for its launch. The worker had landed on a safety hatch 150ft above ground.
The GP and paramedics spent two hours treating the worker's leg and back injuries on the platform.
