Walking Ohio State’s campus for 9 years, Robert Brode, systems specialist for Facilities Operations and Development (FOD), has logged quite a few miles. In fact, Brode says he sometimes walks more than 10,000 steps per day reading all campus-metered buildings. Each month, he visits each facility at least once, to verify meter readings, check system integrity, and perform repairs. His efforts are essential in tracking campus utility consumption and also helps improve his health.
