No matter how you look at it, my route is faster. I even made more mistakes in my route in this video than in the alt route and I still won by a few seconds.
I'm pretty sure that death abusing in the area with the pigs is faster than swimming back from the raft area, so that's why I chose the raft area last since the level ends when you catch the last monkey and you do not need to swim/run back.
