Dr. John David Moorhead, a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine class of 1973-B, completed internships and residencies in surgery and urology, along with fellowships in pediatric surgery and pediatric urology. Instrumental in establishing Loma Linda Children's Hospital, he served as its senior vice president in the early 1990s and later as the president and CEO of Loma Linda University Medical Center. In 1999, he moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to work as the chief executive director of medical and clinical operations at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, where he directed the preparation for accreditation by Joint Commission International.
In 2001, Dr. Moorhead returned to Loma Linda University Children's Hospital as chief of pediatric urology and was elected president of the American Association of Pediatric Urologists in 2006. He has held positions as chief medical officer and senior vice president at Florida Hospital, and executive vice president and chief clinical officer at AdventHealth corporate office. He has contributed to advancements in Spina Bifida's urological treatments and enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family, including two children and many grandchildren.
