En route to an assignment in Afghanistan in spring 2002, military reporter Michael Jordan got the opportunity to spend two days with a squadron of Savannah-based Apache attack helicopter crews deployed to Kuwait, near the Iraqi border. The story Michael filed for WSAV-TV 3/NBC Savannah included an up close look at these lethal flying machines as well as a ride-along beside them in a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter as the Apaches flew over the Kuwaiti desert.
