Trying to see if the level Mystic Bounds can be recorded without being a bitrate mashed pile of soup with this encoder. Used to using H.264 but I'm trying AV1. I did give SVT-AV1 a try, and on low preset (6) it worked- but anything higher, or higher bitrate and OBS would crash. Probably because I don't have a 40 series GPU like an RTX 4060 or something? I've got an RTX 2080 with 11gb of VRAM but that's 5 years old by this point. Not that I'm looking to buy a 40 series, I'm broke as hell. But I heard SVT-AV1 is much faster than AOM AV1, so I would like to use it.
Won't be able to use this for streams though since I'm on twitch. So I'll still be streaming in H.264 like normal, but I will try record in AV1. Also, I use mkv instead of mp4 cause it doesn't corrupt if the video is cut short by a crash and I think it's better quality or something.
9000 kbs might be too high. We'll see next stream if I'm getting a significant frame drop from this, and if I need to drop down.
