No capybara will ever bite you if you hand feed him like this. It is ridiculous to use a spoon. If you are going to get bitten at Nagasaki Bio Park it will be because of the great stress caused to the capybaras by the behaviour of some of the visitors. At 53 seconds you can hear some loud voices and you can see how stressed Aoba becomes on hearing these loud sounds. But these sounds are nothing compared with the frequent shouts and screams of visitors, especially children. At zoos in Britain people are told: "Do not run. Do not shout". And these people are not even inside the animals' enclosures. They are outside the animals' enclosures. Hand feeding is a wonderful sensation as Aoba's lips gently brush across my hand as she gathers up the pellet using her lips.
