The new station is located under St Kilda Road with entrances from both sides as well as the tram/train interchange, a first for Melbourne.
When it opens next year, it will provide better access to the Shrine of Remembrance, Royal Botanic Gardens, the Alfred Hospital and Albert Park.
About the Metro Tunnel Project
The Metro Tunnel will create a new end-to-end rail line from Sunbury in the west to Cranbourne/Pakenham in the south east, with bigger and more modern trains, and 5 new stations. With testing now underway, the Metro Tunnel will open in 2025.
