This is about 8 frames faster than not freezing the owl because you can climb up sooner and get a tiny boost from the frozen enemy.
There is a way of doing a ledge hop while still freezing the owl, but it requires a precise owl freeze and morphing before reaching full height. It's rather finicky and I don't suggest doing it. It didn't make it to the video because I can't replicate it and no one should really go for that in runs (zx found that the ledge hop was still possible, not me).
I suggest calling this trick "frozen owl boost" or something like that, but zx suggested new sam strat and I found it particularly funny, so that's what the title will be ;).
