I’m very fortunate that my new allotment is run by a Parish Council rather than the City Council. There are far fewer bureaucratic regulations. This means I can put fruit trees in, providing their small.
These are both on extreme dwarfing root stocks so will reach about 2 metres.
I originally had them in pots in my garden to see if they’d fit in with the Japanese aesthetic, but they didn’t. Not leafy enough, too big for where I’d placed them. But I knew that I could bring them out to the allotment. And with Monty’s tips on planting trees I felt confident that I could give them a good start.
