Set in a far off future, Anthem traces the story of one man's discovery of his own value in the midst of a world that has abolished all concept of self. After discovering a buried technology from a past that has been carefully obscured by governmental authorities, our unnamed hero slowly unravels the lies he's been made to believe for his entire life.
In presenting a world where collective thought is more valued than the rights of the individual, Rand strikes a parallel with the socialistic thinking that compelled her to leave her native Soviet Russia. As with all great Science Fiction tales, Anthem challenges us to cast a hard eye on present trends so that we might avert future catastrophe.
