On August 30th 2026, set V4 of JR West's 500 series Shinkansen made it's last run on the Sanyo Shinkansen.

One of the only remaining Shinkansen sets with GTO-VVVF installed, it is truly a sad sight to witness these iconic series of Shinkansen slowly go.
