This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2026 Lexus ES electric, luxury sedan.
There are two 2026 Lexus ES EV models to choose from, we have the 350e, it’s a FWD model with up to 481 km/307 miles of range, 221 horsepower.
The 2026 Lexus ES 500e AWD model has up to 444 km/276 miles of range and 338 horsepower.
Although we will be focusing on the 2026 Lexus ES in our review, there is a hybrid option as well, the 350h, it’s powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder with the 6th generation Lexus hybrid system, it’s matched to an eCVT and has 244 horsepower, standard AWD. It delivers a combined fuel economy number of 5.3L/100 km, 44 MPG.
The 2026 Lexus ES is the first Lexus to adopt a multimedia platform with both hybrid and battery electric models. It is incredibly smooth and quiet; it offers a very comfortable driving experience and easily glides over those speed bumps. The steering wheel is a nice size, not too big but we do find the steering to be a bit vague.
The 2026 Lexus ES cabin feels polished, it’s quite elegant with a lovely mix of materials. It comes loaded with plenty of standard features including a 12.3” digital driver display, 14” touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 10-speaker audio system, wireless charger, NuLuxe upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, 8-way power driver and passenger seats with lumbar support, driver seat memory, a radiant front knee heater, heated steering wheel, moonroof and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.
With a level 2 charger the 2026 Lexus ES will go from 10-100% in 7 hours and with a DC fast charger with speeds up to 150 kW 10-80% in 28 minutes. It is equipped with a dual voltage cable and the North American Charging Standard port.
In Canada, the 2026 Lexus ES 350e FWD starts at $65,891, 350e Premium $67,356, 350e Luxury $74,931, 350e Luxury+ $77,306, 350e Executive VIP $81,336. 500e AWD $68,891, 500e Premium $70,356, 500e Luxury $77,931, 500e Luxury+ $80,501.
