The spikes are like dripstone points and can be farmed and crafter for infinite sulfur blocks. Great for making minigames and redstone machines! These are coming in 26.2 update Summer Drop 2. In them are sulfur pools of noxious gas coming from the vents that give players a new effect. New blocks can be found there called Sulfur block and Cinnabar block which can be crafted into raw, brick, polished and chiseled types of blocks.
