Since it looks like it will be a long time before a 218 touch controller is released, I installed the USB A host chip into my 208c Easel Command. I had some interesting results using a simple patch with sequential voltage to pitch, the envelope generator to both low pass gates, and random voltage to timbre, modulation, sustain, and decay. I'm playing a six note arpeggio on the keyboard MIDI controller, but using a 5 note sequence to the complex oscillator with its polarity reversed. I kind of think of this patch as my music box of doom, since the sounds it's making would be appropriate for a fantasy or horror movie score. I am using annotations to try to teach some of my thought process when I'm making these improvisations. I am using the west coast technique of starting with something and spinning it out like a centrifuge. I'm processing the sound through a few eurorack modules that I will detail below. Hopefully this camera angle also helps you learn something!
