Ann Arbor musician Dick Seigel wrote "Angelo's," a radio hit celebrating the longstanding Ann Arbor restaurant near the University of Michigan medical campus on Catherine Street. Over the years, he had became close friends with the Vangelatos family, owners of the restaurant.

When owner Stephen Vangelatos sold the building to the university and retired in 2023, Seigel lamented the loss of an Ann Arbor icon.

“The kind of development happening just seems endless,” Siegel said in May of that year. “It seems no matter where you look, these huge buildings are going up.”
