I've owned these Anker Soundcore Life Q20 headphones for several years. One day they stopped charging. I plugged them in, but the red light didn't come on, they got hot, and still said "Battery Medium". After looking online, they gave the same bad suggestions for fixing - try a different plug, try a different cord, try resetting the headphones - nothing worked. Then i found a comment that said to remove a Diode in one of the earcups. I figured it was worth a shot, they were already broken, not like i could break them any more. So i removed the earcup, removed another plastic housing, then removed the diode with a pair of needle nose pliers. Put it all together and they were fixed.
The diode is a 1-way switch that protects the electronics from shorting out. So i do need to use caution when charging, and not use anything with a 2 or 3 amp plug.
But the whole repair took 5 minutes and was pretty simple.
