I’m working on other videos too, but in the meantime here’s a collection of some of my generally less-polished animations. Most are fairly recent (within the last few weeks/months), but the first Songbird one is a couple years old I think. I teach animation classes so some (like the bug, flour sack, and Land Before Time animations) are examples made for class. The rest are for personal practice.
I found that re-creating shots is a super helpful practice technique for me, since it lets me really study and try out the methods that professional animators use. I ended up referencing a shot from The Amazing Digital Circus since I watched it recently and have not stopped thinking about it since. The animation is so good man. It’s so good 😭 I could make a whole video just pointing at certain shots and acting choices and going “oooooo.” Maybe I will do that, who knows.
