Have you ever tried animating on an iPad with the Apple Pencil? J.K. is prepping to explore animation-on-the-go and now is the time to come along for the journey!
Procreate has some nifty base-level animation tools, but it doesn't seem quite the right fit for animating full shots, so the goal now will be to find the best possible animation software for the iPad! If you have any suggestions, or if there are any apps you've had your eye on but haven't tried out yet, leave a comment below and we'll collect everything together to do some future trials and reviews!

Todays live stream is about struggling as an artist, and what to do about it! JK does some cute creature character design as well to pull himself out of the bit of a funk hes been in for the past few days. We also go over what it means to push your poses and animation, and how that doesnt necessarily mean make it cartoony!

In this animation tutorial for beginners we look at some of the most basic principles of animation. Master these basics and you will understand a lot more about how to animate your own characters and ideas and really make them special.
The #1 rule of animation: As an animator, you have to control how motions look and feel.
Theat means you need to do more than just somehow moving things around. The most powerful tool that you have to control how a motion feels is spacing.
Spacing is the distance an element travels between two frames of an animation.
Small spacing = small movement
Big spacing = big movement
By increasing and decreasing the spacings over the course of multiple frames, easing can be added to a motion.
A motion with the same spacing between each frame is called a linear motion. This only occurs very rarely in nature and usually needs to be avoided.")
