A clownfish protecting its babies headbutted a mermaid freediver to scare her away.
Amusing footage shows the marine animal with a seemingly angry facial expression swimming near its tiny offspring above a carpet anemone in Batangas, the Philippines, on September 3.
It glided aggressively back and forth to threaten the swimmer before it launched itself on the forehead of professional mermaid Doherty Katkat Medes.
Doherty said: ‘The clownfish was cute but it became furious when I swam too close.'
Clownfish are known to aggressively defend their anemone home from potential threats, including other fish and intruding species.
