Last I See is an angry breakup song that I wrote towards the end of a toxic relationship. It celebrates the freedom you experience post breakup, the realization that being by yourself is amazing, that you don't need more.
Towards the end of a relationship my ex partner, who was already controlling, made a mistake that he didn't tell me about, sortof "if she doesn't know, I just can keep doing that". So this song poses a question to him: are you happy now (with the consequences of your actions).
It's about rediscovering your inner strenght post breakup.
