Recently Angelbird launched their new CFexpress Type B Performance Card Reader, and its lightning fast. The performance reader has been designed for maximum efficiency and engineered for high-speed workflows. That means if you are in the field, and you have to - you can edit directly from your memory card.
The Performance Card Reader also sees Angelbird shift from passive to active cooling by integrating SOLID COOL, a new thermal system utilising a fan and a copper thermal block to maintain stable temperature to minimise heat induced performance throttling.
Like all Angelbird products this is super robust, made for set life and delivers transfer speeds up to 40 Gb/s via USB-C 4.0, enabling fast and consistent performance — even with the highest card capacities. The reader is also Thunderbolt 3,4,5 host bus compatible.
The Performance reader ships with a solid flex cable, but other lengths are sold separately.
And this is faster than my passively cooled OWC thunderbolt 3 card reader - which chokes on larger 4tb transfers.
