Professor Angela Fernandez (Professor and Director of the Animal Law Program at the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto with a cross-appointment in the Department of History) delivered "Grabbing at Freedom: Does an Escaped Animal Have a Right to Their Freedom?" on 18th February as part of the Centre's 2026 Talking Animals, Law & Philosophy online series.

This series is a welcoming, engaging, and rigorous forum for debate and ideas about the relations between animals, law, and philosophy. Events in this series are held via Zoom, free and open to all.
