Andy’s has been in the Frozen Custard game since 1986. And those who know swear by the tradition that started at Osage Beach and spread through the Show Me state like wildfire.
From the basics to a lot more, Andy’s has a variety of shakes, malts and build your own options. Hard to go wrong with the traditional banana split, an old-fashioned soda or root beer float.
Some menu items are seasonal. When we stopped by, one of our crew members tried the Strawberry Shortcake featuring fresh strawberries and fresh, store-baked shortcake. We also tried the malted custard shake.
And we can testify that Andy’s lives up to its reputation.

But the Dollywood theme park – which in my opinion is the best-run park in America – has cast its eyes forward since the moment they took down the Silver Dollar City signage.

Despite the limitations created by the park’s location – mountains are great for theme, suboptimal for park expansion – Dollywood has turned itself into a credible roller coaster destination while maintaining all the charms of its theme.
By my count, the Pigeon Forge theme park currently offers nine coasters with another on the way.

Amid the endless pitches, solicitations and shysters, the folks at Buc-ee’s know how to make their voices heard.
So when the self-styled “home of the world’s cleanest bathrooms, freshest food and friendliest beaver” announced its intention to build the world’s largest convenience store in Sevierville, I must say I granted it my full and undivided attention.
At the time of this writing, Buc-ee’s has more than 40 stores. And Buc-ee’s is continuing its expansion throughout the Southeast.
