Prime Minister Andy Burnham has outlined the UK’s response to the devastating disaster affecting Nepal and Tibet.

Burnham described the situation as “very distressing and devastating” and said the UK has offered £5 million in support to the Nepalese government.

He said Britain stands ready to support those affected as the scale of the destruction becomes clearer.
