Did you know that the Bank of Canada is exempted from the oversight of the Auditor General? The Bank’s decisions have a direct impact on the value of the dollar that Canadians earn. With inflation running at historic highs it’s about time that the Bank be made much more accountable to Parliament. That’s why this week I tabled The Bank of Canada Accountability Act, to ensure that the Auditor General can scrutinize the operations and decisions of the Bank of Canada.
