presents episode 3324 | Dr ANDREW KOUTNIK with Rina at The Primal Podcast
Rina of The Primal Podcast interviews Dr Arnold Koutnik,
a type 1 diabetic…
At every meal, T1D must calculate how many carbs they
are eating to properly and accurately intake the amount
of insulin needed to counter the rise in blood sugar
T1D must become experts on how carbs, glucose, insulin
impact the body, and its metabolism
How to Control Insulin…
Evidence shows that the most impact on insulin beyond all
other foods, lifestyle, exercise, etc: CARBS
They affect both glucose levels and insulin levels
High glucose can go unnoticed for a long, long time
before we notice the impact it is having
You become aware of every food's impact on glucose…
Thinks oranges, bananas are superfoods? no
-if blood sugar becomes dangerously low, what is
given as an emergency way to quickly raise it?
Oranges, or other fruits
They rapidly raise glucose and insulin levels
He gave a TED talk about the means that has been used
for over 200 years to reverse obesity and T2D…
It ended up helping a woman Reverse T2D and lose
100+ pounds…
"I was still a grad student when she contacted me”
Such a powerful message to those who believe that
they can only manage their disease
-I had lived that myself, managing
my own T1D

![BEN BIKMAN f | mTOR needs ANIMAL PROTEIN. …older? MORE PROEIN NEEDED for LONGEVITY
http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com
@doctorstotrust
presents episode 3297 | DR BEN BIKMAN classic full set
Rapamycin & longevity…
-this combination is how it is most often talked about
-discussion is centered on intracellular protein: mTOR
[mammalian target of rapamycin]
Research in humans using rapamycin to inhibit mTOR
for longevity benefit is very weak
mTOR is a mediator which affects the
cells ability to grow
-influences the cell metabolism, including
protein synthesis
mTOR is very relevant in muscle health…
Consider: do I really want to inhibit this all the time?”
When eat dietary protein, converted into amino acids
-amino acids activate mTOR
If you believe inhibiting mTOR does lengthen life, then
you dont mind restricting protein intake
-this is the outcome of the notion that
leads to protein restriction for longevity
-I will focus on insulin later and show how
silly this notion is
One reason that the notion of protein restriction for longevity
is silly is that their own evidence challenges it…
Studies show, the older you get, the less protein you eat,
the shorter your mortality
Research show: as people age, if they take in more animal
protein, they live longer lives

![BEN BIKMAN f | DECAYING FLESH …HIGH HbA1c SIGN of HYPOXIA —blood can’t deliver oxygen
http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com
@doctorstotrust
presents episode 3266 | DR BEN BIKMAN classic full set
w/ Dr Ken Berry
Ken: Quest & Labcorp both consider any insulin level
below 25 to be normal…
Ben: evidence that metabolic health of Americans is poor
since lab ranges for hormones, etc are based on national
averages
Question: HbA1c?
several biomedical scientists have said the A1c test is not
as effective as the oral glucose tolerance test…
-it gives far more detail that the A1c
Glycation is chemical process, a function of a reducing
sugar, non-enzymatically, IRREVERSIBLY
bind to a protein, DNA, or lipid and create
glycation end product
-this can happen everywhere, but
not easy to measure in kidney or
in blood vessels
HbA1c can be a measure of glycation end products
everywhere in the body with their damaging effects…
-even premature wrinkling of skin
HbA1c is measure of degree to which we have had this
irreversible glycation binding to functional
part of red blood cell
-within RBC have hemoglobin
-job is to carry oxygen [& CO2]
-more glycated, less suitable to carry oxygen
-leading to hypoxia

![PAUL MASON c1 | ANGIOGRAM HELPFUL? CT SCAN BEST FOR HARD PLAQUE MAIN RISK FOR HEART DISEASE
http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com
@doctorstotrust
presents episode 3374 | Dr PAUL MASON
Many MDs have cognitive dissonance when it come to
giving nutrition advice...they were taught how good the
food pyramid is and how bad red meat is
In this case, two doctors have witnessed
health transformation, yet cannot accept it
Amazing that these diseases have been Reversed!
But the doctors cannot concede they were taught wrong
There are numerous examples of
doctors being influenced By Their Patients
and now advice keto or carnivore diets
Example Dr David Unwin, UK
Dietary Guidelines not based on science?
The guidelines say: only apply to healthy population
So: If Patient has Condition That could benefit by nutrition
then the guidelines Officially Do Not Apply
Papa Carnivore was recommended to have a CT Scan…
-CTCA to check for soft plaque in coronary arteries
-Angiogram, inject dye, highlights problems in lumen
But, checking for calcification is more useful for
predicting future heart attacks
-injecting something into arteries can have side effects
-is it worth the risk to do angiogram in addition to CT scan
Orthodoxy says: soft plaque will turn into hard plaque
-they are actually two distinct pathologies
-soft plaque lays the foundation for hard plaque , but
does not turn into hard plaque
Soft plaque is evolving thrombosis [blood clot that is
adherent to inside of blood vessel wall with lots of
cholesterol and lipids
Hard plaque is calcification of microbial
biofilm [like dental plaque] made by
bacteria can become mineralized by
hydroxyapatites into calculus plaque
Soft plaque can become calcified in
same way from minerals in blood
Soft plaque can become thick enough to block the artery,
but usually this does not happen as bypass vessels are
formed…
-if blocked quickly, like a clot, then trouble
-this is thrombosis which, in the right spot, can kill
One main predictor of serious thrombosis is calcification
CT Scan tests for hard plaque
Gold standard for checking hard plaque
Once CT Scan over 100, no added
value to doing angiogram
