In Chapter 23 of 23 in his 2014 Capture Your Flag interview, environmental advocate Andrew Hutson answers "What is on Your Mind As You Turn 40 This Year?" Hutson shares how he is now at a midpoint - 40 years old - between 20 and 60. It reminds him he is grounded and established in his career and that as a father and husband he has developed into a more mature and open-minded adult through experiences from his 20s and 30s. Whereas 20s are about identifying your passion and 30s are about calibrating, 40s are about applying expertise to make a difference in the world. Andrew Hutson is an environmental advocate at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), where he is currently Director, Value Chain Initiatives. Hutson earned a PhD in Public Policy from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Masters in Environment Management (MEM) from Duke University and a BA in International Relations from Michigan State University.
