"They shine for you"

"And the Beast shall come
and burn down this imperfect world.
Through fire we shall be cleansed.
Our ashes shall build paradise."

The high priest of Flame unleashed the Beast upon the world. It's fire engulfed everything in it's path. And yet, Gabriel always seemed to survive. His family was gone. Everyday he watched more parish. He felt he was losing his mind.
Til the day came he was the last of his kind. He and the Beast came to blows.
"You killed my family!" he cried.
And in the moment the Beast remembered it hadn't always been a monster.

Sera's family, her closest friends, had been taken from her too when she had been marked as the one to become the Beast. In her desperation to free them from their Ice prison, Sera allowed the Priest to preform the ceremony. But once she became the Beast she had destroyed everything.
Even the one's she loved.
In her horror and sorrow, she was resign to her fate. Till she heard their voices.
"Save him..." they cried.

And so she did. Sealing her fate.

"The last of man shall give the Beast
backs it's humanity
And the flames shall engulf them both.
This new world shall be protected by the Goddess.
She will shoulder our pain.
Our loss.
So that we might find happiness."

This is for ICT round 2. I kinda like this one^^ didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, especially the end, but good enough I guess.

Words used:
This world is BROKEN. It's a dying, burning mess. Which makes paradise all the better by comparison.
The main character is Sera. She is the sacrificial lamb. And all she wanted was the safety for those she loved. I decided on her being the main character since she had to make the most decisions and her decision drove the plot. She was forced to become the Goddess in the end so everyone else could live in happiness in the paradise she had created through her flames.
Gabriel is the other character. He is the protector without anything left to protect. In his parts, his present is blending with both the past and the things he fears (since he wasn't actually there when his wife and daughter died) showing his decent into madness since he is unable to protect anything or anyone.

I could probably ramble on and on about the intention of some of this editing, but I guess I should just see if anyone else gets itXD
One last thing though, Kairi (Gab's daughter) has grown up in the end and is reading this story...and that is why Sera is a hero and not a villain. she did create a new world and it wasn't through death.
