ADONIS is an original song by Lina Palera on the ancient lyre and Alexey Alekseev on the ancient frame drum, both masterfully handcrafted by the LUTHIEROS workshop in Greece.
The melody took its name from the mortal lover of the goddess Aphrodite; the ancient spirit of beauty and desire. Two goddesses battled for his love, Aphrodite and Persephone, the Queen of the Underworld. In the end, Adonis was forced to spent half of his time with the first and half with the latter, i.e., half a year above the earth's surface and half below. Adonis myth symbolizes the decay of nature every winter and its revival in spring.
The video was recorded inside a "secret garden" in Limassol, Cyprus, where the two musicians (from Greece and Russia) happened to meet. The song is part of Lina's latest album, AURORA, available on all major platforms (including Spotify).

Lina Palera is a world-renowned lyre player with live performances at numerous concert halls, museums, international conferences, et cetera. such as the Greek Museum of Byzantine Culture and the Frankfurt Musikmesse.
She has an extensive discography as a guitar player and a vocalist. “Aurora” is her first music album dedicated solely to the ancient lyre and the emotions it can evoke.
She loves teaching adults and children how to play the ancient lyre, and this is why she co-founded and serves as the Head of Music Programs at LyreAcademy.com!

Alexey Alekseev is an aspiring ancient drum student with a passionate attitude who is currently living in Moscow. He is a film producer, mainly known for the movies "Hardcore Henry" (2016) and "The Major" (2013).
